Recurrent miscarriage is a condition in which 2 or more miscarriages occur. This excludes other conditions such as biochemical pregnancies, ectopic pregnancies, and molar pregnancies. It often prompts further medical evaluation to identify underlying causes, such as genetic factors, hormonal imbalances, or anatomical abnormalities, which may contribute to pregnancy loss.
The recurrent miscarriage is when three or more miscarriages consecutively have happened. One in 100 women experiences recurrent miscarriage and if the cause is unknown then 6 out of 10 women who have had three miscarriages will go to have a baby. So still that means that 4 out of the 10 may not have a baby because they have an underlying problem and the cause of the current miscarriage is unknown in about 50% of the cases. That means the remaining 50% may have a cause that if found can be treated.
