How many eggs do I lose each period?

In ovulation, usually only one egg is matured, released and this one egg is ready to be fertilized. We need to keep in mind that there is a greater number of eggs that are growing at the same time and once only one egg will be released and all the other follicles will die out.

Usually in a cohort of eggs growing up to ovulation, there’s usually somewhere between 10 and 30 eggs in a cohort and one of those will be ovulated, so we ovulate one egg per month but we’ve lost somewhere between 20 and 30 and 10 and 30 eggs each month.
