AID is artificial insemination of donor sperm. This could be a treatment choice for couples where the male partner has absence of sperm (azoospermia) and they have decided that they would go down this route. It is a treatment option for same-sex couples, single women and it is recommended that this is carried out in the licensed centers.
AID means Artificial Insemination Donor and this is known as heterologous insemination versus the homologous which is AIH- Artificial Insemination husband and this is mainly used in cases of azoospermia, for example, or repeatedly failed IVF.
