How can I help my body to ovulate?

There are certain conditions that we do not have influence on but there are a lot of things that we can do to improve our health. Number one is our lifestyle choices – what we do for our body has a tremendous impact on our well-being.

Actually there’s very little that you can do to improve ovulation. It is unfortunately out of our control but you can take medication called “ovulation induction” medication that your doctor can prescribe you to help with ovulation.

To ovulate – having a healthy hormone balance so that your ovaries can get stimulated sufficiently to produce an ovum and of course there is a certain amount of eggs during the lifetime of the reproductive lifetime of a woman so it’s important to have that reserve there also for ovulation.

Healthy diet, avoiding smoking, avoiding the use of illegal drugs and avoiding a big quantity of alcohol as well as regulating diet with a lot of vitamins, vegetables, legumes, reducing the intake of fat and sugar are ways of improving ovulation.
It is very important and this needs to be underlined – the body mass index – which is a relation of the height to the weight of our body – needs to be maintained within normal limits.
As normal we will define a BMI between 18.5 and 25.
Very reduced or very high body weight can be a result of the irregularity or absence of ovulation and periods.
