4CC is considered the very poor quality of the trophectoderms inner cell mass. So in this case, we’re going to discard those embryos if we have embryos of better quality. Depending on the case, we’ll have a transfer; we can transfer 4CC, but we need to study the patient’s embryo culture to make sure that it’s a good chance for her.
The 4CC embryo is not considered a good embryo. It is well expanded blastocyst on Day 5 with a poor quality of cell mass and poor quality of trophectoderm.

An embryo that has been graded as CC 3, 4 or even 5 – it means that the embryo has reached the blastocyst stage but it doesn’t have a lot of cells at the group that will make the baby and the group of cells that they would make the placenta. There is sometimes an amazing interaction between the endometrium and a very very poor embryo that will allow the embryo to implant and create a life-birth.
A lot of data have been published showing that grade C embryos and even embryos before that stage which are embryos that they haven’t compacted and yet are able to implant and create a life-birth.
