Emily Baker has been working within the fertility sector as an Embryologist since 2011 where she began her training at one of the UK’s largest NHS clinics. During this time she became well experienced in all aspects of clinical embryology, gained her UK State Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and completed a part-time Masters course with Nottingham University. Since finishing her training she has obtained international experience at clinics in Guadalajara, Mexico City and New York before returning to the UK to further her career. Within the laboratory, she has developed a keen interest in Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing after completing Blastocyst Biopsy training at the Embryology and PGD Academy, London. Emily is also a member of the Association of Reproductive and Clinical Scientists as well as the Institute of Biomedical Scientists, keeping her at the forefront of clinical practice at all times. Outside the laboratory Emily has developed a passion for providing patient-centred support, creating and running a monthly patient support group whilst working at a previous clinic. This experience has ensured that the patient’s needs and wishes are at the centre of her practice in the laboratory. Away from the clinic, Emily has a personal interest in interior design and DIY, a hobby developed since purchasing her first house in 2018. Alongside this Emily has also developed a passion for refurbishing vintage and mid-century furniture which she has either used to furnish her home or passed on to new owners.
